55 Quarts - Max Can Capacity: 56 cans - Ice Retention: 4 to 9 Days
The handles aren't the same length and the latch hardware isn't assembled tightly. No reply from the seller or company for the correct length handle material.Update, two weeks after my inquiry Canyon sent me a replacement handle. The school I teach at made all teachers get rid of their individual classroom refrigerators. I thought I would die! Canyon to the rescue! I have used this cooler since the first week of school. It totally out performs my expectations. I did a lot of research to even find this brand....had never heard of it before I started my desperate search. It keeps ice frozen and my items cold for the entire school week. I only have to replace the ice because I like to use it for my drinks too. I DO add good quality (another brand) hard ice packs to the bottom of the cooler to help keep the ice longer, but you could also just use all ice packs and no bagged ice and this would be a great cooler! I am so happy with this purchase that I will probably buy another one for our beach trips! It's truly ridiculous that this brand isn't EVERYWHERE! Such a great cooler for LONG lasting cold! I also loved the clips for the lid. I couldn't stand the ones on other coolers that are T-shaped and have to be pulled down (as hard as you can pull) to open. This lid is easy peasy to open!I had 2 10lb blocks of ice, water, cokes, and food in the cooler all day Thur through end of Sun. Food and drinks were still cold, I estimate I had 2 6lb blocks of ice left. Cooler was in the shade, during 70ish days. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is when it is closed empty, it is sealed, and a bit of a pain to get open. Almost need a handle on the bottom to hold when trying to lift the lid.2021 - edit. I broke a latch off. Got notified they were back in stock, sold out before I could get on - replied to the email and got a quick reply saying I should file a claim. Email warranty, and wow, got a call, sending out the latch today! DANG, now that is customer service! This brand has done really well in competition for holding ice so we thought we would give it a try. We filled up our cooler and drove about 10 hours. Ice packs were still frozen when we made it to our destination and drinks that were warm when we left were now cold. On our way back we tried to pack some ice cream. When we made it back the ice cream hadn't become soup, but it wasn't overly soft. I am sure it would have done better if we actually packed the ice cream with ice. Nevertheless, we are happy with the cooler and it performs well for us. Just for comparison our old cooler would make ice cream soup in a couple of hours like this and ice packs always melted on trips (which always got things soggy).Used this as a primary cooler for 8 days on a trip to Utah. Packed w 2 blocks of ice, beverages w food in the cooler basket and cubes. We tried to only get into the cooler a couple times a day. Refreshed it once with 8lbs. of cubes and drained off some water but added a few items also. When we got home and emptied the cooler the blocks were about 50% and still had cubes. The square shape and recessed handles are ez to pack around. No leaks from the drain plug. If I need another cooler it will be a Canyon,Pros: well-made, and well engineered. The skids on the bottom of the cooler are great idea.Cons: although is certified bear proof, I do think a bear could easily release one or both latches with its claw! Even if the bear couldn't, I'd hate to think of the condition of stuff inside the cooler after it gets bear-handled.the handlesawesome cooler. arrived just in time for a 3 week road trip, 2500 miles, 5 different camp sites, and a bunch of 100+ deg. weather. kept it full of frosty cold beverages the whole time, adding maybe 15-20 lbs of ice every couple days (we were 'stealing' quite a lot of ice for mixed drinks and to ice canteens). hasn't been iced since sunday, its wednesday, and its STILL icy cold inside. rugged, really nicely designed latches, doesn't snag on stuff when you slide it into a fully loaded truck.
