I am not a big beach bag person. Decided to buy this for the small cooler that has it done to the bottom. Worth every penny Madewell. Light weight. Able to fit at least six cans of soda into the zipper and bottom cooler.You could put food or fruit there as well. Loved it. Would buy it againThe bag itself is really nice and well made. I sent it back since looked hot pink (magenta) in picture but is actually more peachy-coral but not quite "flamingo" colored so clashed with my pink chair and my beach towels. If color is not an issue, it is a nice size. Of course, since I returned it, I can not speak to whether or not it leaks but looks like it would perform as expected.I do love this bag but wish the cooler part was a lil biggerThis bag is good bang for the buck. I use this for my long mileage running days, I use the bottom cooler to keep extra bottles of water and sports drink cool, then use the mesh for a beach towel and face towel, sunscreen and running supplies. I use the front pouch for a pack of face wipes, which fills most of the space in that pocket. This is not a large bag, but good for my purposes. With the items mentioned, the bag is nearly full- so for those who want a big beach bag to carry enough for a family, this will not work. It does carry enough for one or two adults, or one adult with one or two small children. Two full size beach towels will fill the mesh portion of the bag, and I was able to fit one ice pouch and 2 - 24 ounce bottles in the cooler potion at the bottom, which filled up that space. Hope that gives you an idea, the overall quality is mediocre- the 5 star ranking reflects its value as it is a good bag for the cost that provides good functionality.Really nice bag and the cooler part actually DOES work! I haven't put straight up ice in it, but I've put ice packs and it does keep the food and drinks cold for hours and hours. Obviously it doesn't hold much in the cooler department though but I don't think it's meant to....with around 2 thin ice packs it was able to hold 3 bottles of water, 1 large sandwich and a small Tupperware container with fruit. Only part I really disliked about the bag was the top mesh part is just too small. I was only able to fit 2 large beach towels in it and I had to squeeze in our sunblocks and every other little thing you take to the beach. If you want to bring 2 towels and a bag of chips forget it, we had to transfer the chips to a little ziplock bag to be able to take it to the beach in this bag.The only thing I would change is to add a zipper on top, as opposed to a small snap. The bag is very cute and is holding up well!I think it is sturdy in fabric and zipper but when the bottom isn’t full I’m the cooler pouch it’s very top heavy and annoyingly falls over all the time. So it is well seamed etc it’s just not going to stay upright and not spill over. Slightly disappointed in the bag space up top. I thought it would be bigger but I misjudged the sizing. If it stay upright the bag top half would be easier to over look.Cooler is a little leaky, but has a strong zipper. Bag holds a lot and is strong… Arm strap is not very comfortable though, especially considering the cooler part weighs the bag down, and you use it when you're in the sun. This bag will be a nightmare for anybody with a sunburn. Good deal for the price though, does it's job. Also has a small side pocket perfect for keys or ID.
